Remember When I Was In Your Tummy?

Brother - "That was when my mom and dad got married." Looking at our wedding picture at home.
Mommy's Friend - "I know, I was there."
Brother - "So was I. I was in my mommy's tummy..."
Hmmmmm.......the math doesn't quite work out...

Brother - "Where are we going?"
Mommy - "To a store. You have never been there before."
Brother - "Yes I have. Remember when I was in your tummy."
Mommy - "Well, mommy has never been there before either..."

Mommy - "Your sister is kicking me really hard." When I was pregnant with Bugs.
Brother - "Remember when I was kicking and playing soccer in your tummy."
Mommy - "I do remember. Do you remember that?"
Brother - "Yep, it was really dark."

What Did You Do Today??

Mommy - "What did you do today?"
Brother - "I don't want to talk about it."
Mommy - "How come?"
Brother - "Because you always ask me what I did everyday."
Mommy - "That's because you always do fun things during the day."
Brother - "Well, I don't want to tell you everyday."
Mommy - "Well you know, when you start school, you have to tell me what you did. The teachers say so..." bad I know...

This almost daily conversation isn't new. It started on the second day he started preschool (age 3). I don't know what happened. On the first day I got to ask a lot of questions, like:

What did you do today?
Do you like your teacher?
Were the other kids nice?
What are the kids names?
What did you have for snack?
What did you have for lunch?
Did you eat your vegetables?
Did you do circle time?
Did you get to color?
Did you get to play outside?
Did you get to sing?
Did you listen to the teacher?
Were you a good boy?

I just don't know why he doesn't like me to ask him questions anymore...

Love Birds

It was our wedding anniversary yesterday. We have been happily married for nine years! We spent a nice relaxing day together (kid free, mind you).

What an Amateur

Mommy has been trying to play around with the different settings on her camera. She is trying to master the art of photography...Just wait until she loads her Photoshop program and starts playing with that!

Rite of Passage

Bugs started walking the day before her birthday. She had taken a few steps before then, but not really walking. So, low and behold one week after her birthday, she was hobbling around with a toy car in her hand and took a fall. She ended up falling on the car and splitting her eyebrow open. We ended up in the emergency room and she had to get two stitches. At least they were in her eyebrow, so they may not be too noticeable.

A good friend of mine said that if she has eyebrows like mine (mommy's) then we will never be able to see the scar...hmmmm...

Big Girl Games

How big is Bugs?

Soooooooo big!!

Activity Fun

I really feel bad for the parents out there who's children are not old enought yet to be participating in a sport activity. Just think of the fun they are missing out on. You know, like trying to locate gear (uniforms - clean if you are lucky, baseball glove, baseball hat, soccer ball, shin guards...) usually last minute with very little help from the child...

Mom - "Where is your glove?"
Brother - Shrugs shoulders...
Mom - "What did you do with it after practice?" (which usually was the day before)
Brother - Shrugs shoulders...
Brother looks for it and can't find it...
Mom looks and finds it (Super Mom!)...
Brother - "Oh yea! I remember now!"
Go figure...

This scenario is especially fun when it is your turn to bring snacks and mom bought the juice boxes but forgot the actual snacks. That means that everyone has to leave early for a last minute store run. Of course that is after getting the cooler ready, loading the car with blankets to sit on, diaper bag (diapers and/or wipes in it if you are lucky), sun screen, sports gear, camera. Oh, and don't forget the kids!

To add to excitement, it is great when the activities overlap. You know, first t-ball game of the season at 9am, then last soccer game of the season at 10:30am, then soccer pizza party at 11:45am (which of course you have all of the soccer trophies, so make sure not to forget them!). Let me tell you how much fun it was the night before that day! Of course Dad was out of town and couldn't help...

Anyways, I really feel bad for the parents out there who haven't gotten to experience this yet! Great picture opportunities!

Is Anybody Listening?

So, we have been having a problem with Bugs standing on the couch, chairs, other inappropriate places where she has a very high chance of falling off, so we are always telling her to sit down. Well, Brother and Bugs were playing yesterday (you know the game, push your sister around in the laundry basket while she squeals with laughter...). As they were playing, I overheard Brother telling Bugs to sit down numerous times before he would push her.
It is always a good feeling when you realize that your kids actually do listen to you...

Daddy's Girl

Last night when Daddy was holding Bugs, she was looking very kissable (as she always does), so Mommy went up to her and said "kiss kiss" (the magic words). Bugs then proceeded to give Daddy a kiss and then just look at Mommy with the "there is your kiss" look on her face. Very funny, but Mommy knew where she stood after that!! Oh well, there is always a new day and more kisses to ask for...

Joke Of The Day

Brother is at that age where he loves to tell and make up jokes. It is so cute when he tells us a joke and then busts out laughing because he is so funny.

Brother - "What did Darth Vader say to the frog and Storm Trooper? I want to kiss you on the lips!"

Sweet Cheeks

Just a cute picture of Bugs. This is her everyday look...no wonder we can't resist kissing her little cheeks all of the time!

Dinner Bell

Dad always says that you know when it is time for dinner when the “dinner bell” goes off.

Mom says the smoke detector is very sensitive…and that is the story she is sticking to!

Tough Teeth

Brother went to the dentist yesterday to get his teeth cleaned. The Dentist proceeded to tell him that his bottom two teeth are starting to get loose. He is very excited, but doesn't want to lose them when he is eating because, teeth are tough and it would be pretty hard to chew them...

Hot Day!

Brother - "How hot is it going to be today?"
Mom - "About 81 degrees."
Brother - "What if it was 81 trillion degrees! Then we would need lots of sunglasses!"
Mom - "Yes we would!"

Party Girl Bugs

We may have a future rock star on our hands... At least she looks the part!

First post on our new blog!

My first post, yay! Posted will be random thoughts and pictures from Brother and Bugs, as well as Mom and Dad. Mom is currently into scrapbooking and knitting, so she may post some pictures of projects that she has completed (notice I said completed...). Dad just got a new engine for his car, so he may post progress on that project as it gets completed...
