Brother was commenting last week that we haven't seen Aunt Steph for a while. So Mommy thought that it would be fun to go on a date with just the three of us. We took Aunt Steph to a movie on Sunday. What an adventure! We were going to go see Hairspray, since Aunt Steph
loves musicals, but when we showed up at the theatre, it was one hour into the movie and we were late due to the wrong time posted in the paper. Very disappointing... So we decided to go to another theatre and see the Bee movie (Brother was happy about this since he really wanted to see this movie instead of Hairspray). We hit the restrooms first to make everyone try and go
again. We then headed over to the snack bar, since it was a special treat, we got some soda's and popcorn to share ($80 or so later...). A few minutes later we were finally seated (front row seats...Brother picked them out). While enjoying the snacks and watching the previews, disaster strikes. Brother was trying to take a sip of the soda that he and Aunt Steph were sharing...and the whole thing spilled in Aunt Steph's lap (the medium drink at the movie theatres means super duper large in real life). Poor Steph was not happy and Brother was on the verge of tears. Luckily for us, Aunt Steph always packs a backpack with extra clothes for an emergency, and I would say that this was an emergency. Unlucky for us, I left it in the car thinking that we would never need it. So we all head out to the car (I told Brother that he could wait in the theatre, but he didn't want to be left alone). The entire way to the car, I had to keep telling Steph to be nice (she was angry and letting Brother know it. Poor guy felt so bad!) and I had to keep telling her that we were not going home. We retrieved the backpack, proceeded to the restroom and got Aunt Steph some dry clothes. Crisis averted! Everyone was happy and we went back to our seats (the movie hadn't started yet! Says something for being early to a movie...never happens in our family). I was also able to get a refill on our soda, so we went back to eating our snacks (Brother could not hold the soda, had to lean up and drink from the cup holder - new rule). About 15 minutes from the end of the movie, Aunt Steph had to use the restroom. So we all headed out again (Brother did not want to be left alone). We finished up, got back to the movie and actually saw the end. Whoo hoo! We made it through!!
On the way home, Brother asked if we could take Aunt Steph to another movie soon...
As always it is a grand adventure with Aunt Stephanie. That is why we love her so much!
